I like the idea of selling T-Shirts, like Rhubarb.com did to support their own messageboard service.
1QuickSI prolly wouldn't approve of MY t-shirts though. Been re-editing porn illustrations, so the designs prolly wouldn't be anything less than XXX.....

when i thought about the t-shirt thing... i
realized that there was hardly a chance that
everyone would agree on the same style design.
moreso because it seems 1quickSI would like
some nice corporate boards as well (private or no).
i was trying to figure out if there was a way
that each category or forum or whatever could
design their own front but have HB.COM on the
back or something.... at a reasonable rate.
any thoughts on that?

..that might be difficult.
Last time I printed t-shirts, the shirts cost about $1 apiece, THEN the screenprinting on top. Prices prolly went up since, so I'd guess maybe $8 per shirt with a standard HB logo as a backpiece. It might have to be bought in bulk too, five hundred at a time. With the front empty, there are cheaper home-silkscreen kits available for personalized m-boards own logos, but when I used them, they fall apart after perhaps 10 - 15 printings, so you'd have to purchase all new materials & burn a new screen really fast.
I wasn't thinking about personalizing t-shirts all THAT much. I wasn't gonna go for every board having their own bersonal design! GAAWD!!! Perhaps one "standard" recognized design; like a simple t-shirt with the circuitboard greytone design over the breast. For the auto-buffs out there, maybe two different car models containing the HB logo. Our own version of that dead-hippy "Keep-on-Trucking" bs. There's so damn many music boards, would find a pic of a musician, and blank his/her face out. Therefore, the buyer could draw in whomever they want to see! Fuckit. Get a soluble pen, so you can draw-in a different face every time you pull it out of the laundry!

besides, the t-shirt deal relies on HB providing
initial revenue prior to sales. someone would have
to purchase the shirts and blah blah blah....
which would essentially 'lock' them into the
t-shirt biz for a while.
based on the poll.... 8 people were remotely
interested in the t-shirt/HB product idea, whereas
7 people were not. since i only have a total of
15 votes to consider (out of 70k+)... this
sampling would only show that a t-shirt plan
could bank perhaps 1/3 of HB posters. the remaining
1/3 are posters that have no friggin clue wtf
is going on.
as for the garage sale, i recently got a bid...
if this is the only bid i receive, that means,
so far HB has received around $10 from my auction.
cmon.... i KNOW everyone has stuff to put on ebay
and this is for HB..... so think about if everyone
from the PRO side of the t-shirt poll put something
on ebay and only received $11 ($5 item, $6 shipping) x 8 pro votes...
that's $80 for HB!...

Well, I do have a gun I was gonna sell, but eBay won't deal with firearms/explosives/fireworks. Why not try to sell it close to home, ON Hostboard?
Hey! I get a good price for a fully-functional Chinese SKS assault rifle, it's yours and the profits go to HB.
An SKS is pretty-much a clone of the AK-47, though was much more widely produced throughout both China and Russia. U.S.A. adopted the smaller caliber M-16 long-22 ammunition.
Ammo: 7.62x39 mm. Originally, was corrosive ammo, so would need to be thouroughly cleaned after shooting every time, but I purchased new after non-corrosive ammo was released. Ammunition is also available in the completely redundant "hollowpoint" style, which is unnecessary if you're carrying this cannon! You graze someone, and it's still taking off a leg!
Serial Number: 02517 (Clean. Never used in a crime. Safe to sell or just take to the range.)
personal modifications/available info: 1) The original stock has been cut down. I aim much better hipshooting than going by the sights, no telling why. So cut the shoulder-pad off. Easier to maneuver within a building without the stock (if your purpose is home defense).
2) The BATF would be all over your ass if they knew you were told the way to do this.., BUT! If interested, will include illustrated plans to convert the SKS from semi-auto to fully-automatic fire. I never bothered cause it's a big waste of ammunition (30-rounds in 2.5 seconds?! Crap, that'll maybe be about $4/sec!) And you think your CAR eats up fuel! Hawhahaha!

you mean....
make a 'classified/merchandise' listing on HB?
not a bad idea.
i wonder if there is any hidden red tape for
such a thing.... anyone know?
